So this morning I wake up and travel out to Starbucks to get my free coffee. I had plans to hit Chick Fil A and get my free chicken sandwich for lunch also. To my surprise, the Starbucks Barista had no idea what I was talking about. She still gave me a free coffee however she stated that she had no idea they were doing free coffee for my “I Voted” sticker.
I knew there was a problem. I read about the election day freebies on digg.com as a top story. I went and did some further digging. Most are bumping up old blog articles from Election Day 2008 thinking they are for 2010 as well.
There are No Election Day Freebies for Election 2010!
Yes, I have to break it to you. My research has not turned up any results for national chains doing any freebies for election day 2010. There may be small local businesses doing something, but nothing I have found for national chains.
So, wear your “I Voted” sticker proud and tell the world that you voted today. Encourage your friends to go out and vote, however know that the sticker will not bring you any freebies this year.
If you know of places giving out freebies, please post them below in the comment sections and help us all out!
One last thing if you have not already,
GET OUT AND VOTE!
Update:
So apparently WalletPop is reporting that a few places are giving out election day freebies this year. However, you will not find any corporate websites actually stating if this is true or not, so it is all up in the air. The key is, if you go out for an election freebie, be sure to take some cash with you. Here is what we are hearing about:
- Starbucks – Free cup of coffee (As in my case, not all locations are participating and I have yet to hear of one that actually is)
- Chick-Fil-A – Free Sandwich (No proof of this one yet. Please post in the comments if it is true.)
- Ben & Jerry’s – Free scoop of ice cream (Still no proof of this one yet)
- Books-A-Million – Free cup of coffee (Nothing on their website and no proof yet)
- California Tortilla – Free Taco at all locations (Proof in the DC area from comment below)
- Krispy Kreme – Star Shaped Doughnut (Nothing listed on their website or Facebook page)
Each of these chains listed above did not talked about it on their websites or their Facebook pages. Please, comment below and tell us which ones you have tested and verified and the location it worked at.

The Artisan is doing 1/2 Drinks.

Thanks Jerry! I heard rumors of California Tortilla however I live in Orlando Florida and there are none that I know of here. Well at least there is one freebie place so far. Does anyone know if this is all of their locations or only in the DC area?
Jerry DiPietro says
According to the news story I read you can stroll into any of their DC, Maryland and Virginia locations.
