Unique Uses of QR Codes

September 20, 2010 by Chris Edwards Leave a Comment

[ad#768×90 Articles]To continue with my series of QR codes, I wanted to show SMB’s some very unique usage for QR codes. If haven’t already, please read our article, Using QR Codes in SMB Marketing, where I help small, medium and even large businesses understand the marketing value of QR codes.

I have looked around Twitter and Google to find some of the most unique and coolest way that QR codes are being used. My hope is by showing these to you, you will be able to come up with some crazy out of the box ways of using QR codes for your business. One thing to remind you is that QR codes cost nothing and require no special technology to create. Please note that the QR codes displayed below do no represent my opinions or values, I just found the way they displayed them to be unique and different.

Jewelry & Clothing

QR codes are now being made into jewelry and clothing. You can create shirts, scarfs and even create an 18-carat white gold necklace encrusted with 1042 brilliant-cut diamonds and 520 black spinels. Some of these are pretty amazing looking. See our gallery below.

Signage

QR codes are used in signs all over however they can also be printed onto your delivery cars or event banners. QR codes can also be created to express your 1st amendment right without actually putting any words onto a sign. QR codes can be used to give more information about a specific landmark by linking you to audio telling you more about that location or a website that has all the history. See our gallery below.

Logos and Art

You can also get creative with your QR code. Just look below and see what Disney Japan has done with their QR codes. See our gallery below.

You can also create your own custom designed QR code. Check out my article on how to create a custom designed QR code to find out how easy it really is!

So Much More

There are so many different out of the box ideas that are being done. You have QR codes made in sand, QR codes made in food, QR codes made in fences and even QR codes built into buildings. See our gallery below.
