Have you noticed recently on Facebook all your women friends posting a status message such as “I like it on the couch”, “I like it on the kitchen counter”, “I like it on the floor” and so on and so on? Well this is actually an out of the box marketing attempt to raise Brest Cancer Awareness.
Now, I do not want to disappoint my fellow men, however, these Facebook status messages are not creative places that the women like to … well … you know what you and I are thinking. They are actually where they like to place their purse when they come in the door. This message is being spread all around Facebook to different women via private messaging and email explaining to them what they need to post. It is meant to confuse men and in turn raise awareness. So far, these “I like it on” Facebook status messages are creating awareness. It has become one of the top Google searches on the internet. Here is what the email states:
Ok ladies here’s another game, like the bra color game which was a total success and we had men wondering for days what was with the colors and it made it to the News. Well this game has to do with your handbag, where we put our handbag the moment we get home for example “I like it on the couch”, “I like it on the kitchen counter”, “I like it on the dresser” well u get the idea. Just put your answer as your Status with nothing more than that and cut n paste this message and forward to all your FB female friends to their inbox. The bra game made it to the news. Let’s see how powerful we women really are!!! REMEMBER – DO NOT PUT YOUR ANSWER AS A REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE, SIMPLY PUT YOUR ANSWER AS YOUR STATUS, THEN FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO YOUR FRIENDS .”
The reason I posted this was to show how an out of the box idea can really take off. This is true viral marketing via social media. I am amazed how this has taken off as I see many of my female friends on Facebook participating in it.
