QR codes are taking off however as the popularity begins to grow, more and more just skip over your QR code and do not scan it. Victoria’s new “Sexier than Skin” campaign has found a way to entice viewers to scan their QR code by using sex appeal in an all new way.
I can explain it to you, however, I feel in this case I will let the pictures do the talking for me.
I have to say, if I were walking around and saw an ad like this, It would be almost impossible for me to pass by and not scan it. This is by far one of the more unique yet cool ideas I have seen for QR codes in recent time.
To scan these QR codes, all a person needs is a smartphone equiped with a QR code reader installed.
QR codes can be easily created by companies using a QR code generator and normally at no cost. This technology is growing at a rapid rate due to the ease of creating them as well as how low the cost is on making them, most times being free. If you are a business and looking to start using QR codes in your business, see how easy it is to start using QR codes in your company’s marketing efforts. Get creative just as Victoria’s Secret has!
Now for a simple poll for the comments below. Would you scan it?
Aneta Burzy says
do you perhaps know who did the campaign for VS?
Patrick Handali says
I’m not so sure about the legibility of the QR Code especially on that billboard and signboard. It’s too damn small.
Chris Edwards says
I agree. I think this was more of a way to show what you could do with advertising with QR codes using Victoria’s Secret as their test. Either way, it is a cool idea.

Nice implementation … don’t see any lead capture on the pages their showing, but I’m sure it’s there.
Fred says
Sorry – but no… I will not stand in front of an ad to find out who’s marketing a product to me. If I want to see tits I can always go to a porn site.
Having said that – I think the campaign’s great – I can choose not to know what product is being sold to me. For all I care it could be H&M or Triumph or Campbell Tomato soup.
Roger says
except that you know that it’s VS from the typography.

This is very cool, given the low cost it can be applied to more than just advertising,
Paul Lakeman says
I would scan it NP, engaging 🙂
Patrick Donnelly says
wow. What a hand model for that phone –
Richard Posey says
Would I scan it? In a heartbeat! Well, if I could scan it semi-discretely … sort of like sneaking a peek at a Playboy on the newsstand.
Chris Edwards says
I would too..and feel dirty about it. I would look around and wonder who is judging me. The ones giving me a funny look, I would be showing them the phone screen saying…ITS NOT WHAT YOU THINK!! Heh.
